How do I add a friend?

To add a friend, just click on the "add friend" button on the right side of their profile. A friend request will be sent to that person. Once they confirm that they actually are friends with you, they will show up on your Friends List

If I remove someone as a friend, will they be modified?

No, but all friend links are reciprocal, so you will be removed as a friend from their account as well.

If I ignore a friend request, will they find out?

No. When you ignore someone, his/her friend request will leave your list of friend requests, and they will not be notified.

Is there a way to cancel a friend request?

Yes there is a way to cancel a friend request. Just click on “Remove my friend request"

A large number of my friends have disappeared.

XTube frequently purges fake/spam profiles from the site, this is usually the main reason why a large number of your friends may have disappeared.

How do I block someone?

You can block someone by clicking the "Block xxxxx" link on their profile page. It is located under their profile picture.

How do I delete a friend?

Go to the profile of the user/amateur you wish to deleted and click the “friends” option, and they will be removed from your friends list.

Notifications

I got an email saying I have a pending friend request, but I don’t see one.

Just send the other person a friend request from your account. Alternatively, you could ask them to invite you again.

I got an email asking for my XTube password.

Don't respond to this email! XTube will never request your password and we do not advise giving your login information to anyone under any circumstances.

I keep receiving notifications I don’t want, what can I do?

To control what email notifications XTube sends to you, simply go to the Email Notice tab of the My Profile page: (click here).

I’m not receiving email notifications.

Please make sure you have not adjusted your email notification settings from the Email Notice tab of the My Profile page.
Please check your spam/junk email filter to ensure that emails coming from XTube have not been incorrectly placed in this folder. Be sure to add the "@xtube.com" email domain to your email account's safe senders list.
If you are still not receiving emails from XTube, please contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to ensure that they are not blocking email traffic coming from XTube.

How do I challenge a rejection?

If your upload is rejected and you would like to challenge the rejection reason, follow the steps above to locate the URL to the photo or video, and then contact support outlining why you think it should be reconsidered.

I have two accounts, is it possible to merge them?

We cannot merge or transfer any aspect whatsoever.

How do I change my country?

You may change your registered location under the "Location Information" section of the Account Settings page located here: (click here)

How do I change or add a profile picture?

You can change or remove your profile picture any time by expanding your header avatar, then going to "Settings" tab. (click here)
please Note: Once you have changed your profile picture it may take some time to synchronize across all the servers.

How do I view my content?

All of your content can be found on your profile page.

I want to permanently delete my account.

If you would like your account permanently deleted, log in to your account and then submit your request by clicking here: (click here)
Please keep in mind that we cannot retrieve any of the content or information that has been deleted.

Can I change my username?

No. Your username is your permanent identity in the XTube community.

Photos

How many photos can I upload?

Upload as many photos as you want - sharing is good!

How do I share photos or share an album with someone?

You can share an XTube photo with any of your friends by using the "Share" link located under a photo or photo album.

How do I add photos and create an album?

Some people cannot view my pictures.

When you upload photos to XTube they must be synchronized accross all our content servers. It is possible that the user who is experiencing problems is connected to a server that has not yet updated.

What is 2257?

Its the Law! More specifically, it’s the law that forces everyone involved in creating photos and videos of a sexual nature to acquire proof of age, and dictates how that proof is stored. Failure to comply with this law will result in jail time and/or a massive fine. Both suck, so play safe

Is there a limit on how much I can upload?

Currently, the only limit is 2GB per video and 6MB per photo. We don't have any limit for the number of files you can upload, and don't plan on adding a limit anytime in the future. So upload as much as you want -it's more content for the XTube community to enjoy!

What file formats can I upload?

How long do my photos and videos stay on XTube?

Your content stays on XTube until you choose to take them down. Content that violates the terms of use and/or have been flagged may be taken down by XTube.

How do I remove a photo or video uploaded?

To remove one of your uploads, simply click on 'My Library' button at the top of any page, then click on either 'My Photos' or 'My Videos.' Then, press the delete button on the one you want to delete or you can go to your profile and click on the options “photos” or “videos” and there you will find the delete button under the videos and photo albums.

How do I watch and save photos & videos?

Viewing photos and watching videos on XTube couldn't be easier - just hit the site and browse around, or search the tags for things that interest you.
To save your favorites for later click the 'Add to Favorites' button that is to the bottom right of the video player.

Videos

My video was flagged for ‘possible infringement’ – what do I do?

In order to break the typical stigma that "Tube Sites" regularily have members that intentionally upload copywitten material, XTube has decided to lead the way in ensuring copywritten content is not uploaded to our website.
Using the latest MediaDNA technology, every video uploaded to XTube has its fingerprint compared to a large, centralized database. If the fingerprint is a match, your video does not go online.
We admit - This technology is not perfect, and sometimes your videos will be caught accidently. Simply submit a ticket with your videoID and username, as well as information to help us verify your video and we will investigate at our earliest convenience.

How do I delete one of my videos?

When editing any of your videos, there should be a link next to the thumbnail that allows you to "Delete” or you can go to your profile and click on the “video” section and there you will find your videos, under the videos there is a delete button.

Who can see my videos?

The default option when uploading your videos is "Public" - which means everybody can see them.
When you edit any of your videos, you can establish who is allowed to see it. Your options are "Public" or "Private". When selecting the "Private" option, users must contact you for the PIN code before they can view the video.
You can edit a video's privacy settings at any time by clicking the "Edit Video" link next to the video thumbnail on the Edit Video page.

What do I need in order to watch a video?

You should be able to view a video from any computer, so long as you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed. Adobe Flash Player

What does it mean when it says my video is encoding?

Unlike photos, the video upload process isn't always immediate. The video files you upload need to be converted into another format, which can take some time. The encoding process may be delayed if there is a high server load.

Can I watch XTube videos on my iPhone/iPod?

Sure you can! You can watch our videos through our mobile site.

What are video statuses?

When you upload a clip you will be able to view its status from the "My Videos" link found under the "Home" link. A list with all Statuses can u find here.

There are technical issues with a video I uploaded.

Sometimes, things can go wrong during the video encoding process. Some common problems include lack of sound, bad sound, fast-forwarded sound, dark colors, fast motion, and so on. If this is the case, please delete and re-upload your video.

Can I make my embedded videos auto-play?

Yes, you can auto-play movies! At the bottom of every video, we give you the source code to embed the video. To make sure it autoplays, just add "&autoplay=1" to the code.

Is there a limit to how much I can upload?

Most videos on XTube are under five minutes long. There is no specific length limit, but longer videos require more compression to fit in the 500MB size limit, and the quality will go down as the length of the video goes up.

Please allow up to fourteen business days for your card provider to process the refund to your original method of payment after we have processed it on our side.

Why was my content removed?

Your content was removed because we determined that it violates the XTube Terms of Use to which you agreed when you registered to use the XTube website.
The XTube Terms of Use includes our content, intellectual property and privacy policies. Please re-read our Terms of Use and be certain that all of your remaining content on the XTube website complies with these rules.

What does ‘public domain’ mean?

How can I tell if content is copyrighted?

Before uploading content to XTube, please be certain that you own the copyright to all content in your work or that you have the permission of the copyright owner to use the content. Registration

System says that there is an existing account with my email address

The email address you have attempted to register with has already been registered to another username/profile. XTube requires a unique email account for each username/profile.

  1. If you are trying to create another XTube username you will also need to create a new email address, we recommend Google Gmail
  2. you cannot recall creating your XTube account, either you did at some point or someone made a typo in creating their account. As you have access to "already in use" email account please click here to request the password which will be EMAILED to the aforementioned email account.

What is the minimum password strength? How can I make my password strong?

When creating a new password, be sure that it is at least 4 characters in length and that you use a complex string of numbers, letters, and punctuation marks. If the password you entered is not strong enough, you may want to try mixing uppercase and lowercase letters or make your password longer.

What is the minimum age required to sign up for XTube? How old do you have to be?

In order to be eligible to sign up for any XTube account, users must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.

My username was rejected during sign up.

If your username was rejected when trying to sign up, this means that the username you chose is already in use, contained disallowed characters (such as *,@ etc.) or contained a disallowed phrase (eg xtube, admin etc.)

My confirmation email doesn’t arrive.

  1. Check your email application's spam or junk folder or filter.
  2. Check that you're registered with the correct email address.
  3. Please note that some emails may be blocked by your ISP (internet service provider).

Searching

How do I clear my search history on XTube?

XTube does not save your searches, but your browser might. If you do not want to see your previous search terms displayed in the search field, you need to clear the search history, or empty the cache in your browser. This process may differ between browsers.

What are tags?

Tags are keywords that describe photos and videos. For example, an amateur video might be tagged with "beginner," "hot," and "newbie." Users who enjoy amateur content can then search for any of those terms and that photo/video will pop up in their search results.
Tags help you find new content you might like to see, and also help you label what you upload so that other people can find it more easily.

The system has blocked me from sending messages?

An automated system has determined that you were sending messages at a rate that is likely to be abusive. Please note that these blocks can last anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Unfortunately, we cannot lift the block for you - don't ask.
When you are allowed to resume sending messages, keep in mind that it's possible to run into a block based on how many messages you send and how fast you send them. It's also possible to be blocked when either starting a new message thread or replying to a message. Lastly, deleting old messages will not allow you to send more messages. In the future, please proceed with caution to avoid hitting the limit again. Please be aware that further abuse of such features can result in your account being permanently disabled.

You received this warning because you sent messages that other users have reported as spam. XTube does not allow users to send messages promoting or advertising a product, service, or opportunity. How do I add a comment to a blog?

You can add a comment by clicking on the title of a blog and scrolling down to the "Post A Comment" box. When you have written your comments in the box, please make sure to click "Submit".

How do I edit a blog entry that I’ve already written?

To edit a blog entry, simply click on the "Edit blog" link when viewing the blog entry. Alternatively, you can click the Edit Blog button from the Blogs tab. You may then modify the blog in any way you wish. When you are done with your edits, don't forget to "Save" the changes.

How do I add photos to my blog?

Unfortunately it is not possible to attach a photo to your blog entry.

How do I write a new blog?

To create a new blog entry go to your profile and click on the “write blog” option: (click here)

Login and Password

I reset my password but it will not work the next time I log in.

If you are prompted to reset your password every time you log in, your problem may be related to your internet browser. Please clear your browsers cache and cookies and try again.

I can’t receive the email to reset my password because I no longer have access to the email address associated with my account.

If you are having trouble accessing an existing account on the site, please contact support. Do NOT create another account, as this will delay resolution of the issue.

What happens when I message someone?

When you message someone, your message goes into his or her Inbox. There will be a notification on that person's home page as well.

You can currently only attach videos that you have uploaded to your messages. However, you can include links to anything on the Internet.

What is phishing?

Phishing is an online attempt to trick a user by pretending to be an official login page or an official email from an organization that you would have an account with, such as a bank or an email provider, in order to obtain a user's login and account information.
In the case of a phishing login page, the login page may look identical to the login page you would normally go to, but the website does not belong to the organization you have an account with (the URL web address of the website should reflect this).
In the case of a phishing email, the email may look like an email you would get from the organization you have an account with and get emails from, but the link in the email that it directs you to takes you to the above phishing login page, rather than a legitimate login page for that organization.
To prevent your account information from being obtained in a phishing scheme, only log in to legitimate pages of the websites you have an account with. For example, "www.xtube.example.com" is not a legitimate xtube page on the "www.xtube.com" domain, but "www.xtube.com/example" is a legitimate xtube page because it has the "xtube.com" domain. When in doubt, you can always just type in "xtube.com" into your browser to return to the legitimate xtube site.
Please note that current versions of Firefox warn you if you have navigated to a suspected phishing site, and we recommend that you upgrade your browser to the most current version. You can also find more information about phishing and how to avoid it at antiphishing.org and onguardonline.gov.

My friend’s account is sending me spam, but he/she didn’t do it.

It is possible that malicious software was downloaded to your friend's computer or that their login information was phished in an attempt to send spam from their profile. We would like to investigate this issue further, but unfortunately, we cannot release information regarding a user's account to anyone but the account holder.
Please tell your friend to visit the XTube Help Center and contact us.

My account has been hacked by another user.

Make sure that the email associated with your account is secure.
If you're having trouble logging in with your normal email and password, try resetting your password using the link on the login page. An email will be sent to you with steps for completing the process.
If the email on your account has been changed, or if you are unable to access your profile, please send us information about the account so we can look into it further and hopefully restore access. Please submit your report here.

What is the subscription feed?

Subscription feed is the place to check for new videos, photos, blogs, and webcam schedule from members you subscribed to.

How do I subscribe to a member?

You may subscribe to a member by visiting their profile and clicking on the 'subscribe' tab.

How do I unsubscribe from a member?

Simply visit the members profile and click unsubscribe.

How can I see who has subscribed to me?

Is there a limit on how many members I can subscribe to?

No, there is no limit, you may subscribe to as many members you wish.

Can I see only videos or photos from my subscribed members?

Yes, you can filter the results by content type.
