I thought I'd write more about my development as an edger. I gave some background in my July 3, 2012 post, but I got more experienced as time went on, and my edging skill really took off.
As I wrote in that earlier post, I began practicing using the stop-start technique. In my early days of edging, I would take my fingers off my clitoris entirely while waiting for the about-to-orgasm sensation to fade. Then I would start stimulating again. This was hard for me to judge at first. The first few times I did this, I didn't wait long enough and orgasmed by accident right after I began rubbing my clitoris again. As I became more experienced, I didn't remove my fingers but simply stopped stimulating and just held them there during the "stop" periods. While reading about techniques for men to prolong their orgasm, I was introduced to the squeeze technique. Clever ***** that I was, I thought to myself, "What if I could do the same thing with my own equipment?" So I began pressing down firmly on my clitoris with my fingers as a way to get the about-to-orgasm feeling to go away, and it worked!
My twenties were all about continuing to edge better and better. I got to a point where I was so good at it that I didn't have to stop stimulating at all to edge. I just kept at it using a gentle, controlled stroke that placed me comfortably below the point of no return. I call this my "cruising altitude." And then entirely by accident, I discovered that my edging could be taken to new levels simply by preventing my pc muscle from clenching. Previously, I would clench and release that muscle throughout masturbation because it felt so good to do it, but if I relaxed it and even "pushed out" at moments when I was dangerously close, I could go on for what seemed like forever. Another thing I discovered, deep "belly breathing" is key at those dangerously close moments.
The latter stages of edging are always deliciously pleasant for me. I get the female equivalent of "blue balls," which is an ache in my lower abdomen that feels like menstrual cramps. I love the feeling of the ache because that's how I know I'm edging myself real well. I will also have involuntary pulses of the pc muscle every now and then in these late stages of edging. The small contractions "let off steam" a bit and allow me to keep stimulating longer and longer without the orgasm approaching.
The long-delayed orgasm is always an amazing payoff with a good edge. It's my reward for all of my hard work.
