Despite the negative input of those sociolinguistics who presume that a language can only exist if it has a society of people who are or who have spoken and/or written it, for those among us who truly believe in our humble field of study, are reminded of how relative our relationship is to such problematic theoretical notions including ‘meaning’, ‘truth’ and ‘fiction’.[1] The field of Disfodish study is referred to formally as Disfodish Protolinguistics [1]. suggests that previously assumed links are primarily vocabulary-based rather than grammatical. This, of course, helps us better understand some of the linguistic anomolies Disfodish still poses.
