New Instant Messaging
Ladies & Gents,
You may have noticed us trying out our new Instant Message feature over the past little while and we just wanted to let you know how to turn it off incase you don't want it in your experiance. You can click the image below and it will take you to your message center, the options are located below your messages in your message center.
There are 2 different types of chat
- First there is the IM Bar to is across the bottom of the page ( this is the default chat option and will appear if you have the below option selected )
Message Bar: Display the Chat Bar at the bottom of my browser window
If you turn this option off you will get the second style of instant message, this open a small new windown for each coversation that you are having .
If you are having a hard time with the messenger please make sure your web browser is up to date and if the problem presists create us a support ticket at support.xtube.com and let us know.

Did you guys disable it for right now or something? It never shows anyone online for me.
There is a very obvious link missing : click through to see each chat user's profile. We have "block user", "send message", "remove buddy" - but no "show profile".
I didn't realize it was under the messag center. This will be useful. However, one thing I've noticed - the in-browser version keeps giving connection error issues. Sometimes enough to fill up the entire height of the screen (ahem... 1920x1280 sized screen at that). Not sure why, but still. It's annoying.
Perhaps having a notification that only appears when there's an issue in the chat list/buddy list would be better? It'd avoid excessive messages filling the browser window.
...Just if anything, just make sure that the z-index of this stuff is high enough to go OVER any other content. ...So many developers forget this. :/
Xtube is not working ...the vids don't play...please fix...Thx...Jake
Thanks for this info.! I had to turn it off. It got annoying popping up all the time.
please get rid of it, it's causes browser issues and the pop up window is a major annoyance. I feel more comfortable just posting my contact info on my profile if i wanna chat. I see you're trying to go more social, you just need a better implimentation.

I have the latest version of firefox 13.0.1, and it kept freezing my browser or causing flash to crash. I turned it off as well. Also I noticed I couldn't scroll down the friends list.
Thank you so much for showing how to turn it off. I can't count how many times I got error messages because of theis new feature.
Hadn't realised until today that the reason I couldn't jump between tabs due to massive slowdowns, was purely the result of this little 'improvement'. Surfing smoothly and quickly now it's disabled. The issue seems to stem from the IM bar losing connection and pausing everything else, completely, until it has reconnected... quite irritating really!
Get rid of it and get rid of your fuckwit IT department. I finally found out how to disable this shit, but in spite of that every time that, it still resets my login if I watch a clip. Also how do we disable that live jasmin? Gay people don't want to see pussy or we would make the effort to be straight.
really didnt like the IM facility...kept crashing my pc and couldnt access xtube because of it!
I turned the feature off because of early problems. NOW I went to turn it back on to see if it would work BUT the options have disappeared from the place they were beneath the e-mail preferences. What's up?
I love this feature, but I haven't been able to get it to work in Firefox or IE. Sigh.
